Admission at doctoral studies for Romanian citizens is established by the Regulation for organization and development of doctoral studies at “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu.
Foreign citizens from the EU member states, the European Economic Space and the Swiss Confederation can register to the doctoral studies under the same conditions stipulated by the law for the Romanian citizens, including the fees (the fee for entrance exam, the study fee and the fee for the defense of the PhD thesis).
The EU citizens who apply for the doctoral studies in Romania must submit a certificate of equivalence of their studies, issued by the National Centre for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas in Bucharest. More details can be found at: https://cnred.edu.ro/en/recognition-studies-european-citizens-admission-master-doctorate-level-in-Romania
**Non-EU citizens will have to obtain the Letter of Acceptance from the Ministry of Education. Also, according to the provisions of the Ministerial Order 3473/2017, the admission to a Romanian PhD program is conditioned by the graduation of a preparatory year in Romanian language. Details for the preparatory year can be found at https://litere.ulbsibiu.ro/an-pregatitor-de-limba-romana/
